This year, for the first time, the London Ballet Circle ran a booth to raise awareness of our charity at the Royal Ballet School PTA’s annual Summer Fair at White Lodge in Richmond Park. This is a popular event for friends and families of the students as well as for members of the public who would not normally have access to the school. As with any school fair there were activities for children and stalls selling a variety of gifts, products, raffle tickets and refreshments. The highlight of the day for most, however, must surely have been the opportunity to watch these talented young students in their joyous dancing displays. Tours of the school, which has a fascinating history as a former Royal hunting lodge, were also available throughout the day.
It was a gloriously sunny day and a team of volunteer Trustees enjoyed meeting up with new faces as well as more familiar ones. The Fair was officially opened by former pupil and current Principal with the Royal Ballet, Anna Rose O’Sullivan, who posed for photos at our gaily decorated booth.
A big thank you to the Royal Ballet School PTA for their tremendous hard work and organisation and a warm welcome to all the new members who signed up to join the LBC on the day or soon after the event.
