A chance to enjoy the Victorian Radicals exhibition and watch Birmingham Royal Ballet perform in the beautiful Waterhall on Thursday 27 June.

The evening will feature the world premiere of Olivia Chang Clarke’s new work Melody In Three generously supported by LBC.

Join us at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to see highlights from Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker alongside the world premiere performances of Melody in Three, a new work commissioned especially for the event by the London Ballet Circle.

And while you're enjoying the Victorian Radicals exhibition in the Gas Hall there will be a unique performance installation, based on the motion capture work BRB has been doing with experts in the field, Holosphere, whose interactive motion tracking system captures human movement and transforms it into real-time digital art.Music from Royal Ballet Sinfonia Co-Leader Joana Valentinaviciute and a quartet of young musicians from Birmingham Conservatoire.

Ticket options:

▪️6pm (doors open at 5.30pm) - join us in the Waterhall first for an introduction to BRB and to watch the dancers perform on the stage. Then afterwards move over to the Gas Hall to enjoy the Victorian Radicals exhibition and watch our motion capture installation in action while two of our dancers perform. This event ends at approximately 8.30pm.

▪️6.30pm - tour the Victorian Radicals exhibition in the Gas Hall and watch our motion capture installation in action while two of our dancers perform. Then move over to the Waterhall for the 8pm performance and introduction to BRB. This event ends at approximately 9pm.

Tickets include a glass of wine or non-alcoholic alternative. 

This event is part of the 'Birmingham Royal Ballet at the Museum' residency.
