The London Ballet Circle is delighted to be ‘in conversation’ with Ivan Putrov in the wake of the highly successful ‘Dance for Ukraine’ gala arranged by himself and Alina Cojocaru at the London Coliseum on 19 March 2022.
The Times hailed the event as "a fundraising gala of incredible skill and spirit." The gala was arranged in super quick time and raised over £140,000 for the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
Ivan Putrov is a Ukrainian-born ballet dancer and arranger of unique ballet shows. He trained at The Kyiv State Choreographic Institute and at the Royal Ballet School before joining the Royal Ballet company in 1998. Amongst other achievements in a glittering career, Ivan has appeared with national ballet companies in Hungary, Lithuania, Ukraine, and at the Vienna Staatsoper.
Since leaving the Royal Ballet in 2010, Ivan has continued to perform as a guest around the world and become a director of ballet productions. These include the 'Men in Motion' ballet programmes 2007 to 2017 plus the successful show ‘Against The Stream’ at London Coliseum in 2019, and the ‘Ukrainian Ballet Gala’ at Sadler’s Wells in September 2021.
